In the Copa del Rey Round of 16, Albacete faced Real Madrid. In the first half, Villar broke the deadlock with the opening goal. Huijsen’s header was saved, but Mastantuono followed up to level the score.
In the second half, Bentancur found the net to put the hosts back in front. Güler then delivered a corner kick, and Gonzalo headed home to equalize once again. However, Bentancur later completed his brace with a decisive winner.
At full time, Real Madrid fell 2–3 to Albacete and were eliminated from the Copa del Rey.
